It seems like Political Trysts are all the rage these days. You can’t go to a gossip site without reading about which politician has been cheating on his wife. We’re going to go over a few government officials who have been thrust into the spotlight for getting caught with their pants down this year.
Anthony Weiner: The world is a-Twitter about this sexting scandal, dubbed Weinergate. The married Democratic U.S. Congressman used Twitter to send a picture of his boxer brief-clad erect penis to several women. At first, he denied posting the image and said his account had been hacked. It wasn’t long after when he backtracked and admitted to sending sexually explicit photos and messages to about six women over a three-year period. After the public learned that his wife was pregnant, news followed that Weiner was stepping down from his post.
Arnold Schwarzenegger: How surprised were you when you heard about Arnold’s affair with his live in maid? Rumors of his transgressions had been reported for years, so this one certainly wasn’t a shock. The stunning announcement that he had a 10-year-old son with the maid made us take notice though. Not only that, but the fact that he was born a week apart from his son with Maria Shriver… yep, that’s a little ballsy. In fact, Maria used to joke about how much the maid’s son looked like Arnold. Now that the news has hit the fan, Maria has moved out and reportedly hired a divorce lawyer. It looks like she won’t be back.
John Edwards: The affair between the presidential hopeful and his mistress is old news, but now that he’s been charged with breaking campaign finance laws by using political funds to cover up his affair and out-of-wedlock child with Rielle Hunter during his 2008 presidential run, it’s front page once again. Late last year, his wife Elizabeth died of cancer, which didn’t help his public standing. With this charge looming over his head, we’re wondering how long it will be before his not-so-secret tryst Rielle flies the coop (it may have something to do with the fact that if he’s convicted, Edwards faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1.5 million fine).

Since Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, announced their split, the world as been craving more juicy gossip about the Tryst that set the wheels in motion. Since you need to know the back story that goes along with the Tryst, we’re going to break down the events leading up to the split of the power couple, and take a look at the woman who help bring them down.
1991: Mildred Patricia Baena, the mistress in question, is hired to work as a housekeeper and assistant at Arnold and Maria’s Pacific Palisades estate.
Early 1997: The trysting between Patty and Arnold begins. We’re not sure if it was a one-time deal or it went on for a long period of time, but what is certain is that Patty gets knocked up with Arnold’s love child.
Sept. 27, 1997: Maria gives birth to Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger.
Oct. 2, 1997: Five days later, Patty’s son is born. The father listed on the birth certificate is listed as Patty’s husband.
Oct. 23, 1997: Just 21 days after the birth of her son, Patty separates from her husband of 10 years, Rogelio de Jesus Baena.
Fall 2003: When Schwarzenegger’s starts his run for California governor, tales of his sexual misconduct hits the news. To deflect the tabloids, he and Shriver appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where Shriver defended her husband’s antics. Strange as it sounds, the media doesn’t uncover the illegitimate child.
Feb. 13, 2008: Patty files for divorce from Rogelio de Jesus. She cites irreconcilable differences, and papers state that the couple are listed as having no children together, despite Baena’s name being on the boy’s birth certificate.
January 2011: Arnold leaves the governor position and tells Maria of the tryst. Not surprising, she moves out and into a hotel.
May 9, 2011: Maria and Arnold announce their separation. Nothing is mentioned about the tryst or his secret son.
May 17, 2011: The other shoe drops, as Arnold tells the world about his the illegitimate child that was conceived during his marriage to Shriver.
May18, 2011: The next day, the world leans that a 20-year employee of Arnold’s is his mistress.

They’re hot, they’re famous, they can get anyone they want. So why would they risk everything to hookup with the most unlikely people? Here are a few strange trysts that our favorite celebrities didn’t quite get away with.
Ashton Kutcher and Brittney Jones
This young lady claims to have had an affair with Ashton Kutcher, and says that “he’s a great lover,” and “it was tender and nice.” Half the age of Kutcher’s wife, Demi Moore, Jones says she slept with the married actor and felt like they had “incredible chemistry.” Jones alleges to have met him at a bowling alley and slipped him her phone number on a cocktail napkin. After he called her, she met him at his home while Demi was in Detroit filming a movie. When the affair was over, Jones decided to do the classy thing and sell the story to a tabloid.
David Beckham and Irma Nici
From where else but the tabloids would you get this kind of update? They reported that David Beckham employed the services of a former high-class call-girl Irma Nici. She claims she slept with Beckham five times back in 2007. She says about the tryst: “It was a high. All of these women dream of being with him, and I got to hook up with him. It was very exciting.” As for the highlights of the affair, she discloses that her rate was $10,000/night, that Beckham was a “very gentle and kind” lover and he’s “more of a butt man than a breast man.”
Angelina Jolie and Mick Jagger
Too strange to be true? According to Biographer Jenny Paul, who has spent six years researching his book “Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: the true story” revealed that the affair started when she appeared in the Rolling Stones’ music video, “Anybody seen my baby?” back in 1997. They later picked up where they left off in 2003. Angie has a track record for getting together with guys who are committed to other people – at the time of her affair with Mick, he was still married to Jerry Hall.
Gavin Rossdale and Marilyn
Rossdale admitted to having an an affair with male pop star Marilyn in the ‘80s when he was still a teen. The Bush singer, who is now married to No Doubt star Gwen Stefani, had a fling with the gender-bending singer but didn’t admit to the relationship before because of the “glare” of the media. They were together for five years, back when Rossdale was a wild child who wore black lipstick and partied until all hours at London’s underground clubs. According to Marilyn, both he and Gavin agreed to keep their relationship a secret for fear that exposure of Gavin’s bisexuality would impact the success of his band, Bush.

David Letterman: Just this year, David Letterman surprised everyone when he made a statement on his show admitting to an affair with a co-worker. Letterman came clean due to a blackmail attempt and even apologized to his wife on air (which probably saved him a golf club upside his vehicle). The woman in question was Stephanie Birkitt, his former assistant as well as ex-girlfriend of the accused extortionist, Robert Halderman. It looks like he’s sticking with his marriage, as there’s been no high-profile divorce talk as of yet.
David Duchovny: After years of sex addition and reported cheating, Duchovny checked himself into rehab after his wife, actress Tea Leoni, filed for separation. The actor, who plays a sex-obsessed womanizer in TV series Californication, came clean because the tabloids where about to release their own story. We are happy to say the Duchovny and Leoni are still together and are getting ready to renew the wedding vows.
Kobe Bryant: In 2004, a hotel employee accused Kobe of sexually assaulting her. And how did Kobe react? He bought his wife a $4 million diamond ring. His wife stayed, and Kobe settled out of court with the woman in question. The ring must have erased her memory, because Kobe’s wife is still around (and sporting that honking piece of bling!).
Hugh Grant: This Brit was a bad boy in 1995 when he was picked up by police with hooker Divine Brown in Hollywood. At the time, he was dating actress and former model Liz Hurley, who stayed with him several years after he was caught with his pants down. Two weeks after the incident, he admitted his wrong doing on the Jay Leno Show and made no excuses for his behavior.
Charlie Sheen: He might be happily married now, but Sheen as seen his share of sex scandal. In 1995, a woman sued him and said that he had struck her in the head when she refused to have sex with him. Soon after, it was revealed during the trial of Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss that Sheen had shelled out some $50,000 for ordering her call girls more than 20 times.
